As September comes closer and closer, the leadership team is gathering together for a time of prayer, reflection, planning, and visioning for the upcoming year. At Prince Conference Center in Grand Rapids, MI, leaders will spend time planning out the year and getting to know each other in the process. Please take time to pray for the team this weekend.

Service Opportunity: Summer in the City part 2

Cornerstone will be returning to Highland Park Community Outreach. We will be cleaning in and around the community center in preparation for their summer day camp, which starts next week. HPCO provides evangelistic and discipleship programs for inner city youth and children in a community known as Highland Park (a very impoverished suburb surrounded by the city of Detroit).

Last time, we did a lot of work assessing flood damage in the basement, tidying up the yard and soccer field, cleaning up the fellowship rooms and kitchen, and repairing electrical and computer issues. Visit number two will be Saturday, June 28, 12 pm to 5 pm. Rides will depart at noon from Ann Arbor at Campus Chapel and/or AACRC.

HPCO is located at 45 Ferris St, Highland Park. Directions from Ann Arbor (approximately 40 miles):

M-14 east, I-96 east, exit 186B for Davison Fwy/M-8 east, exit for M-1/Woodward Ave north (left from off-ramp), turn right at Ferris St.

Drivers are needed to car pool from Ann Arbor as well. Please let us know as early as possible if you would like to help. Contact Phil Choi at phil_choi@cornerstonecrc.net.

Service Opportunity: Summer in the City

Cornerstone will be helping Highland Park Community Outreach with spring cleaning. We will be cleaning in and around the community center and helping with desperately needed repairs in preparation for their summer day camp. HPCO provides evangelistic and discipleship programs for inner city youth and children in a community known as Highland Park (a very impoverished suburb surrounded by the city of Detroit). Recently, the outreach center was broken into and had all of the copper pipes stolen, causing the basement to fill with water. Spring cleaning will be Saturday, May 31, 12 pm to 5 pm. Rides will depart at noon from Ann Arbor (meeting point indeterminate, please email if joining us!)

Prayer in the Park

Summer is here so let’s go and take advantage of it! This is a reminder there will be Prayer in the Park this Friday at 7pm at Gallup Park. Come and join with your fellow church members to spend some time praying and enjoying the beautiful weather!

Directions:
The entrance to Gallup Park is off Fuller Road, right across from Huron High School. After crossing the wooden bridge, take a left and park in the lot all the way at the end. We will meet at the gazebo on the farthest end of the park.
