by admin · under ldp · on Saturday January 5, 2008The Leadership Discernment Process (LDP) is the means by which members come into leadership positions at Cornerstone. We invite all Cornerstone members to prayerfully participate in this process.
- NOMINATIONS (1/31): Members of congregation nominate a person for a position upon prayer and reflection.
- PERSONAL FORMS (2/24):
- REFERENCE FORMS (2/24): From a small group leader or someone who has served as a mentor or peer accountability partner.
- PRE-CONVERSATIONS (2/25-3/14): Nominees meet with a current Council member or Small Group leader. The purpose is to supplement familiarity with the nominee provided by the Self-Reflection Sheet and the Spiritual Gifts Inventory.
- DISCERNMENT MEETING (3/15 & 3/29): Council members and Small Group leaders meet to approve nominees for leadership positions.
- POST-CONVERSATIONS (3/16-4/6): An LDP Team representative (usually the same person who did the pre-conversation) and nominee talk to clarify issues of position, timing, and calling.
- DECISION BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT (4/10): A final decision is arrived at together between the nominee and LDP Team representative. The nominee is encouraged to take time to pray, reflect, and seek the counsel of friends and mentors.
- CONGREGATIONAL AFFIRMATION (4/13): The new leadership team is presented to the congregation.
